The great thing about Sassy is that their products are well-named and easier to differentiate from each other.  We will continue to add updates as they become available. Remember that these products will not be labeled as BPA and PVC free, because manufacturers are not currently required to do so. Hopefully this list will help alleviate some of the confusion in the meantime.

As a side note: Sassy does not offer any pacifiers that are BPA free. All of their pacifier shields and keepers contain BPA.

I’ve contacted Sassy regarding their Sassy Lively Links product to see if it contains BPA, PVC, or Phthaltate. My daughter absolutely loves these links, which she uses as a teething toy. Have you heard anything about this particular product? I know many friends of mine have babies that love these links…

Does anyone have information on the Sassy Teething Wing Butterfly and/or Dragonfly? I’ve seen a few sites claim they are PVC/phthalate free but nothing on the BPA status. Thank you in advance.

An answer from MAM on exactly which pacifiers are BPA, phthalate & pvc free.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to email us with your questions
    and
concerns. The MAM Nanno, Soft Rim, and Ulti pacifiers are BPA and free.
The MAM classic, and Air, and mini mam contain polycarbonate in the
shield and knob. The nipples are either silicone or latex which is BPA
free. The trends, diamond, crystal are also BPA free as they are the
Ulti pacifiers. Which means they have a rounded shield instead of a
butterfly shaped one. If I can be of further assistance please let me
    know. Thanks!

    Thank you,

It would be nice to actually SEE this (Bisphenol-a, Phthaltate &PVC free) listed on the product packaging! Will this be done in the near future? It would greatly take some of the guess work out of making a purchase.

I have often wanted to make a purchase be it a toy, bowl, utensil or the like & have found myself putting it back (or telling my husband to do so) so that I may go home & “look up” the product first. There goes lost “impulse” purchases.

Just an FYI… although Sassy has been cooperative in answering questions, getting their bottles and pacifiers BPA, phthalate and PVC-free, I recently found another site (healthytoys.org) that found an extremely high concentration of lead in Sassy’s “My Little Sunshine” mirror…AND SASSY IS STILL SELLING IT ON ITS WEBSITE!! With NO MENTION of the dangerous amount of lead! And this is a mirror FOR A BABY TO TEETHE ON!

    Hi Alicia,
I purchased a set of bowls by Sassy from Babies R Us about 9 months ago when I saw it listed on your site as BPA free. However, I no longer see it listed or a picture of them on the Sassy BPA free page. I know you recently updated the Sassy info. so I’m concerned now that I’m using ones that really do have BPA in them.
The bowls came in a pack of three different sizes and had a few suction cups to put on the bottom. The bowls come in orange, magenta, and green. Do you know if they are still BPA free?

Thanks for your help, and I appreciate all the work you do to keep our kids healthy.

    Hi Gloria,

If I’m understanding your description correctly, you’re talking about the Sassy Feeding Bowl Set. If so, it is still included in the list above. You’ll find it below the On the Go Feeding Set and above the Insulated Feeding Pots.

    Hope that helps,

    Thanks for your response, Alicia.

The bowls I have are the same size as those above, but they are different colors. The bowls above seem to have plastic that is more see through, mine are more of a solid plastic. Does that sound familiar or make sense? Sassy may have updated the look since I bought them, but I just want to make sure mine are still okay and have no BPA. Thanks.

since I was still confused I wrote to sassy for additional info regarding which paci’s my daughter had been using – the answer was helpful, but I was disappointed by the not so good news -
meanwhile I bought Born Free pacifiers at Baby’s R Us – not made in China, and BPA, Phthalate, PVC and latex free.

Dear Consumer: Thank you for your email. Pacifier nipples are made from silicone or latex, materials that do not contain BPA. All MAM Pacifiers are phthalate-free. All MAM Nanno, Soft Rim and Ulti pacifiers are BPA-free. FYI…pearls, stripes, love & affection, trends, black & white collection, diamond, crystal, glow in the dark, tattoo and attitudes are ulti’s, therefore they are BPA-free. If you are currently using a mam pacifier and still don’t know if it is BPA-free, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Other MAM pacifiers currently have Polycarbonate Plastic in the (shield/knob), such as the Mini Mam and Classic Mam. Just as all Sassy products will be BPA-free by the end of the year, MAM has promised to convert the entire line of pacifiers to BPA-free material with shipments at the start of next year. Each consumer is valued, and we thank you for taking the time to contact us.

    Best Regards,

I received a Sassy 6 piece Gift Set (containing Lively Links, Gummy Guppy Teether, Bird Wrist Rattle, Bee Wrist Rattle, Flipper Gripper Rattle, & Coolin’ Droolin’ Teether), the Hello Baby Phone, and the Circle Rattle for my baby.

Before registering for these items, I found info. on a few different websites indicating that the toys are BPA free. Since then, I have been finding conflicting info. on other websites. I contacted Sassy three times for clarification, but have received no responses. And on the Bed, Bath, and Beyond website, 2 of the toys (Lively Links & Circle Rattle) are listed as BPA free.

I appreciate any current information that you may have regarding the BPA in all of the above items.

Also, I noticed that the Gummy Guppy is listed as BPA free on your site. Does it matter if the one that I have is a different color from the one pictured?

Thank you for all your help!!!! I really wish all packaging provided such info.

Today, I spoke to Laura at Sassy. She researched each toy & told me that the toys that I’ve listed above are BPA free. She also let me know that all Sassy toys (except the color changing spoons) are BPA free. Just FYI, let me know if you have different information. :) Also, I’ve been looking at Sassy products on the HealthyToys.org website.

Today, I also asked Laura Heslinga at Sassy how long the toys have been BPA free and she told me since the end of 2006. The BPA was located in clear plastic where the beads are (like on the Circle Rattle).

Several rattles (Circle Rattle, Hello Baby Phone, Gummy Guppy…) have a circle on it with a number inside. If the number is 04 or more, the toy is ok & BPA free.

    I hope this info. helps!

I bought Sassy bowl feeding set for my son about 1.5 years ago, are they still BPA free? I know the bowl feeding set is listed as BPA free on above and I would like to know the product is BPA free since day one to confirm the one I bought 1.5 years ago is still BPA free. Thanks.

    Hi Priscilla,

The Sassy Feeding Bowl set is reported by Sassy's QA dept. as having been BPA-free for at least the last 3-4 years, so you're in good shape!

I am a bit irritated at Sassy….I got these bath toys as a shower gift and emailed the rep to ask if they were BPA/PVC free and she assured me that ALL of their products were. Now I am learning they are not…what is a parent to do?!!!!
