While reading the latest updates on the Healthy Child blog, a long-time favorite resource of mine, a little blip about a new baby bottle company caught my attention. In my world, when Healthy Child says a product is worthwhile, I perk up and listen. I went straight to work and sent my typical inquiry email, asking about the company’s background and the composition of their baby feeding gear line. I received an immediate response from the founder of Think Baby, Kevin Brodwick.
A few days later I enjoyed an intriguing phone conversation with Kevin. I learned that he worked for a laboratory (specifically focused on testing products for estrogenic activity caused by chemicals like Bisphenol-a) funded by the National Institute of Health . His concern grew with each test result, and after unsuccessfully trying to convince several large baby bottle companies to alter formulation, he decided to accept the challenge to create a line of safer bottle and sippy cups. Think Baby’s development team also includes Dr. Alan Moore, a clinical pathologist, and Dr. Dan Peterson a neurological specialist. Christopher Gavigan, Executive Director/CEO of the non-profit Healthy Child Healthy World, also serves on Think Baby’s advisory board. Need I say more?
Think Baby has made their goal simple: exceed the highest expectations of concerned parents. They have set out to do just that by working with experts around the world, performing thorough testing with third-party laboratories, and accepting your child’s health and safety as a personal responsibility.
Think Baby also actively supports projects that promote a healthier, safer environment. A portion a of your purchase benefits Health Child Healthy World and all products are packaged in 100% recycled paper.
We’ll fill you in their fantastic line of BPA, Phthalate, Lead and Nitrosamine free bottles and training cups soon. The company has also created an amazing stainless steel water bottle for parents called Think Sport. They are truly the Cadillac of reusable bottles, and needless to say, my best new traveling companion! More on Think Sport soon, too . . .
