Itsabelly Non-toxic Feeding Series Review, Part 1: Foogo Sippy

  • Sharebar

Melissa, founder of Itsabelly Baby Concierge, is beginning an informative series that will take a close look at some of the safer baby feeding gear currently available.

The stainless steel Foogo sippy cup by Thermos is first up for review with the help of little Isabella (we love that homegrown research!).

Isabella has been using her non-toxic Foogo sippy cup by Thermos for almost 2 months now and she doesn’t hesitate to grab it whenever she sees it to take a big sip, whew! I was nervous because my toddler is so picky and unpredictable. I thought if she treats the Foogo like she treats what foods she’ll stick in her mouth everyday then we’re in big trouble (one minute she likes something, one minute she doesn’t)! At first I thought it might be too heavy for little hands and I wasn’t too keen on it being stainless steel because I couldn’t see through it and determine how much liquid was still left (like in a plastic sippy). But stainless steel is not a big sacrifice when you’re looking for non-toxic, right?! Plus as a mom don’t we all love stainless steel in our kitchens and appliances, chic & modern style of course – only the best for our tots. Additionally, whatever you put in it stays hot or cold because its a design made by Thermos. The only minor thing is there are one too many pieces than I want to clean (adding to my overloaded sink of dishes). So when you’re rushing out the door with your diaper bag and toddler in tow you better have an extra sippy cup ready if you don’t have time to spend cleaning the day old milk stained Foogo at the kitchen sink. Again, VERY minor detail.

As for The Soft Landing family of testers, we’ve been in love with the Foogo line of products for many moons (okay, at least since last May when we first found them). We start out with the sippy cup, then graduate to the straw bottle and from there it’s on to the FUNtainer. My 9 year old takes his Hotwheels FUNtainer with him everywhere – from Nanna’s house to the movies. We drink everything from cocoa while sledding to juice at the park from our Foogo cups. I’ve been told that “it just tastes better, Mom.” It makes me happy to know that our kids aren’t drinking a chemical cocktail with their milk.

I am interested in trying out these products especially since its thermos and maintains temp. I am just wondering if this line is only available online as I have not seen it at stores in Canada.

    Hi Emily,

The Foogo line is only available in the US right now, but will soon be making its debut in Canada. I’ve heard the timeline is sometime in May, but that’s just hearsay from a Canadian business colleague of mine.
