What does green mean to you?
My green is most certainly different than yours, but the great part is that it doesn’t matter! We all have our own unique bent that we can share with others. I like to describe myself as a chemical avoider with a twist of green. I excel at understanding environmental toxins as they relate to children, but I’m not the best in other areas. To be honest, I’ve felt a little lacking in comparing myself to some of the folks I look up to because they’re SO darned amazing in their specialties. Over the years I’ve learned to set that mentality aside and to keep working at it with help from Healthy Child Healthy World. They’ve helped me realize that we can all make a difference in what we do. Taking small steps in the right direction is okay – we’re not required to run a marathon the first time we join the race.

I agree, so my daughter Livvie and I thought we’d give it our best shot and show the world how we do it for the Healthy Begins Here Video Contest! Livvie was thrilled to describe how she carries her lunch on the go. She’s 8 years old and already so knowledgeable about using safer eating gear. What can I say? The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
